Friday Swim
Something is wrong with my alarm clock. No really, it's true. It never went off this morning. But for some reason at 5:38 I sprung awake and jumped out of bed to meet Dane at the AC.
I got in the water just after 6:00. All the lanes in the 50m pool were taken, so we swam in the 25 meter "rec" pool first. After 750 meters for me (1650 for Dane who started at 5:38, hey maybe that's why I woke up then...) two lanes opened up in the 50 meter pool. So we moved over to it and I put in another 300 meters.
I finally did a full 500 meters without stopping this morning, so that felt great. I'm beginning to really learn to slow down more, rest during the recovery phase of the stroke and breathe easier.
Tomorrow we're riding and running in Springfield. There's a 5k at 8:30 so we plan to do an 8-mile warm-up ride followed by a 12-mile time-trial (i.e. hard as we can go) ride back to the start of the race. We'll try to simulate T2 and then go straight into the start of the 5k race. Should be lots of fun.
